If Someone You Love is Struggling

You've probably tried everything. The conversations. The ultimatums. The promises that things will change. And nothing has worked.

  • You're exhausted from worrying, from sleepless nights, from waiting for a phone call you're terrified to receive
  • Maybe they've tried treatment before, but it didn't stick—and you're starting to lose hope
  • You feel helpless watching addiction tear apart someone you love, not knowing what to do next

Here's what you need to know: This is not something your family can handle alone. Addiction is a medical condition that requires professional treatment. And the right treatment can change everything.

5 Levels of Care

Recovery isn't an event—it's a process. That's why we offer a complete continuum of care, meeting you where you are and staying with you as you progress.

1

Medical Detoxification

Safe, medically-supervised detox with 24/7 clinical monitoring. We manage withdrawal symptoms and keep your loved one comfortable and safe.

2

Inpatient Residential

Structured 24/7 care in our facility. Individual therapy, group sessions, and constant support during the most critical early stages of recovery.

3

Partial Hospitalization (PHP)

Intensive treatment during the day, return home at night. Bridges the gap between inpatient care and real-world reintegration.

4

Intensive Outpatient (IOP)

Continued therapy and support while returning to work and family life. Structured accountability without full-time facility residence.

5

Standard Outpatient

Ongoing support for long-term recovery maintenance. Regular check-ins, therapy sessions, and alumni program access.

Why Treatment at SOBA is Different

Most treatment centers focus only on the addiction. We treat the whole person—because lasting recovery requires addressing what's underneath.

  • Dual-Diagnosis Treatment
We address addiction AND co-occurring mental health conditions (anxiety, depression, PTSD, trauma) simultaneously. You can't treat one without the other.
  • Master-Level Clinical Team
Our therapists and medical staff aren't entry-level. They're experienced professionals who specialize in integrated addiction and mental health treatment.
  • Adventure Therapy
Recovery isn't just about talk therapy. We incorporate experiential approaches that build confidence, resilience, and real-world coping skills.
  • Family Programs
Addiction affects the whole family. Our programs help everyone heal together and learn how to support lasting recovery.

Is This Right for You?

We're not the right fit for everyone. Here's how to know if SOBA can help.

This IS for you if...

  • You or your loved one is struggling with substance addiction (drugs, alcohol, or both)
  • There are co-occurring mental health issues (anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD)
  • Previous treatment attempts haven't worked long-term
  • You're located within a 5-hour drive of New Jersey (or willing to travel)
  • You're ready for professional, medical-grade treatment—not just willpower

This is NOT for you if...

  • You're looking for a quick fix or 30-day "cure" (real recovery takes time)
  • The person struggling isn't willing to engage in treatment at all
  • You're looking for luxury amenities over clinical quality
  • You need specialized care we don't offer (eating disorders, certain psychiatric conditions)

Common Questions

We know this is a big decision. Here are answers to what families ask most.

Most major insurance plans cover addiction treatment, and many cover most or all of the cost. Our admissions team will verify your coverage before you start—no surprises, no hidden bills showing up later. We know how to navigate the insurance maze and fight for coverage so you don't have to.
Treatment length varies by individual need. Detox typically takes 5-10 days. Residential treatment can range from 30-90+ days. The full continuum—from detox through outpatient—often spans several months. We don't rush recovery because real, lasting change takes time. That said, many clients see significant progress within the first few weeks.
Relapse is common—but it doesn't mean treatment failed. Often it means the underlying issues (mental health, trauma) weren't properly addressed, or the treatment duration was too short. Our dual-diagnosis approach and 5 levels of care are specifically designed to address this. We stay with patients through the entire recovery journey, not just the first 30 days.
We offer free transportation anywhere within a 5-hour drive of New Brunswick, NJ. That covers most of New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and Maryland. Our team can also help you have the conversation with your loved one about starting treatment. Sometimes having a professional involved makes all the difference.
Absolutely. Addiction affects the whole family, so we include family programs as part of our treatment approach. This includes family therapy sessions, education about addiction and recovery, and learning how to support your loved one without enabling. Many families tell us this is one of the most valuable parts of the experience.
